We spent time talking about the Real Food Wheel (pictured below), and how it embodies the many values people hold which relate to food production. Whether you want to protect our climate and natural resources, dignity and fair wage for our farmers, farmworkers and food service workers, free expression of culture and control of ones diet, or the pure health impact food has on your body, YOU MIGHT LOVE REAL FOOD!
From there we brainstormed how we envision the food system in "the world as it should be". What are your most wild goals for the UW food system?! Don't let reality hold back your imagination! Written on the board were a collage of food activism energy. We saw "100% Real Food at UW!", "All veggies from the UW Farm!" "Real scratch cooking" "Food that came from fair labor practices" "Food that aligns with my values"! Thank you to all who came, the room was packed with your smiling faces! We were fortunate to conclude with Chipotle Burrito cards for all attendees- thanks, Chipotle!
